Tomorrow is National Wear Red Day. Heart disease is one of the biggest killer of women. When we think of heart disease we usually imagine the cast of SNL sitting around a table making jokes about Da’ Bears.

Instead, we should think of our mothers, our sisters, our aunts, ourselves.

Wear Red tomorrow……and take care of your heart.

So, I have this amazing 5th grader with a lovely way with words.  We have had a few interesting years recently with the divorce of her father and myself.  I thought that we should create a spot where she and I could journal our story together.  Me, the single mom.  She, the pre-teen kid.  My hope is that this blog will help the two of us understand each other better, celebrate each other more, and eventually get through the next handful of years of teenage angst as best we can.  We will also have occassional guest appearances from the Littlest Sister who is currently 7 years old, and always wants to be a part of her Big Sister’s world!  It’s hard to be the Littlest sometimes.  I can’t wait to see where this road takes us.  We may cry, we may laugh, we may hate what the other one says, but all in all we’ll be OK.
